Services

Individuals

I work with those who are 17 years of age and older. I am committed to keeping a practice that is accepting and inviting to all individuals. I have a particular focus on life transitions, meaning those who are in the throes of major change (entering or existing university, a new or accelerated metal or physical health diagnoses, marriage, kids, divorce etc.). I also work with individuals who have a previous mental health diagnosis. In this case, I take a collaborative approach which includes communicating with other health care providers and support persons when appropriate.

Couples

The intricacies of relationships often lead people to therapy. Sometimes it is best to do the work with your partner, and in this case I welcome couples in all stages of growth and turbulence. Whether you are in crisis or in need of a tune up, by beginning couples therapy you are acknowledging that the relationship holds enough value that it is worth the work. Couples can expect to be met with warmth and can feel comfortable bringing in a range of issues including sex, intimacy, parenting, co-parenting through a divorce, managing a separation, infidelity, or general relationship angst.

Prenatal and Postpartum

I specialize in prenatal mood and anxiety disorders as well as the postpartum period and the challenges that come with parenting young children. I help moms, dads, and couples navigate the following concerns: difficult pregnancies, birth stories, birth trauma and birth recovery, understanding the postpartum body, changes to sex and intimacy, bonding and attaching to baby, adjusting to new roles and identities, baby blues, and postpartum anxiety, depression, and OCD. I also support parents through elected terminations, pregnancy loss, and infertility. It is with empathy, understanding, and expertise that I welcome all moms, dads, and parents into my practice.

I offer in home sessions for new mothers only. This is designed specifically for moms who are suffering from a perinatal mood disorder and are unable to leave the home. Please call me for the details and rates of this service.

A special note on postpartum psychosis: With specialized treatment in the form of hospitalization, medicine, and therapy you will get better. As part of your recovery, I am happy to be a member of your treatment team. I encourage moms and dads to remember that successful and fulfilling parenting is possible after postpartum psychosis.
